In order to create a website for your dance studio, you’ll need a few things:
- Domain Name
- Hosting Company
- Publishing Platform
Your domain name is the www.dancestudio.com. These typically run $8-$10. I would recommend getting a .com or .net. Other domains look spammy and might alarm your potential visitors. Getting a domain is easy. Go to Host Gator or Go Daddy to register and buy.
These two companies will also allow you to buy hosting. Hosting means they will put you dance studio’s website “online.” This typically costs $80/year, but you can get significantly lower if you agree to pay for 3 years+ at once.
From here, you will log into your cPanel. This is where you can set up emails, choose a publishing platform, and more.
Lastly, you’ll need to get a publishing platform for your dance studio website. I highly recommend WordPress. In my opinion, they are the easiest platform to work with. You can edit and install different plugins to get your site to do amazing things. Contact forms? No problem. Social Media buttons? No problem. Not to mention, there are thousands of free or inexpensive themes for you to choose from.
Both companies with walk you through these steps to make it easier to create your website. If you’re still struggling, contact me and I can help!
